{"id":1638,"date":"2013-03-26T13:38:47","date_gmt":"2013-03-26T13:38:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.egeve.com\/up\/wordpress\/2013\/03\/26\/kate-winslet-cast-in-divergent\/"},"modified":"2022-10-29T16:28:04","modified_gmt":"2022-10-29T15:28:04","slug":"kate-winslet-cast-in-divergent","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.egeve.com\/en\/kate-winslet-cast-in-divergent\/","title":{"rendered":"Kate Winslet cast in Divergent"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>British Oscar-winning actress Kate Winslet has been cast in upcoming young adult film <em>Divergent<\/em>, boosting the profile of the latest adaptation from a best-selling novel to the big screen.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div>\n<p><strong>Film studio Summit Entertainment said on Thursday that Winslet, 37, will play the cold and unlikeable Jeanine Matthews in the film set in a dystopian future.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div>\n<p><strong>The film, based on the first of a trilogy of novels by Veronica Roth, is set in a society that is divided into five factions that define how a person lives their life.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div>\n<p><strong>The Abnegation people are selfless while the Erudite devote themselves to a lifelong pursuit of knowledge.
